Frequently Asked Questions
Is there any downtime after the treatment?
Is there any downtime after the treatment?
No, there is typically no downtime after laser hair removal. Most clients can resume their daily activities immediately following the treatment. Some may experience mild redness or slight swelling in the treated area, which usually subsides within a few hours. It's important to avoid sun exposure and refrain from hot showers, strenuous exercise, or waxing for 24–48 hours after the treatment to ensure the best results.
Does the treatment hurt?
Does the treatment hurt?
Laser hair removal is generally well-tolerated. Many clients describe the sensation as a mild snapping or tingling feeling, similar to the snap of a rubber band against the skin. The discomfort is typically brief and varies depending on individual pain thresholds and the area being treated. For sensitive areas, a topical numbing cream can be applied to minimize discomfort. Most clients find the treatment more comfortable than waxing or other hair removal methods.
When will I see results?
When will I see results?
Results from laser hair removal vary depending on the individual and the area treated. Most clients begin to see a reduction in hair growth after about 2 to 3 sessions. However, the full results typically become noticeable after 6 to 8 weeks of treatment. Hair grows back thinner and lighter, and with each session, more hair is permanently reduced. For optimal results, multiple sessions are recommended, usually spaced 4–6 weeks apart, to target hair in all growth stages.
How many sessions do I need?
How many sessions do I need?
All areas require a minimum of 6 sessions to start. Sessions are generally 4 to 5 weeks apart depending on the area to be treated. Hormonal areas will need additional sessions. How many sessions you require will depend on the amount of hair, hair color, your genetic background and how closely you follow the schedule set by your technician. For complete removal, you will most likely need more than 6 sessions.
Pre-Treatment Guidelines
Pre-Treatment Guidelines
In order to achieve the best results we ask that you refrain from self-tanners, tanning beds and sun exposure. Failure to do so may result in scarring, hyper pigmentation and burn. This could lead to the possibility of permanent side effects.
Additionally, we ask that you don’t wax, tweeze, bleach or use depilatory creams 2 weeks prior to treatment. Using these hair removal methods will make the laser ineffective and you will not see the results you are looking for. You may shave as much as you like. This is the only form of hair removal that you can do during treatment and still achieve good results.
We also ask you to inform us if you have been taking antibiotics. We cannot perform treatment until 2 weeks after your last dose. Antibiotics increase your photosensitivity to the laser and put you at risk for side effects.
Before coming in we ask that you shave the area to be treated, with the exception of women having treatment to the face. The area should be cleaned beforehand. Deodorants, lotions and cosmetics should be completely removed before receiving treatment.
Post-Treatment Care
Post-Treatment Care
Experiencing redness and or bumps immediately after treatment is normal and usually subsides within 2 hours after your session.
Apply aloe Vera gel immediately after treatment. You can reapply as needed.
You should avoid deodorants, cosmetics and any harsh acne products for 24 hours after treatment. Sun exposure, vigorous exercise, hot water or anything that elevates your body temperature should also be avoided. Though, you may exercise before you come in. Treat your skin as gently as possible.
UV sun protection should be applied to exposed areas. Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible for 2 weeks after your treatment.
1 to 2 weeks later you will notice that you will begin to shed hair from the treated area. You should exfoliate the area to help along the shedding process.
