How Many Sessions and Why?

This is for sure one of the main questions anybody has about Laser Hair Removal. How many sessions will they new and how long would the process take to get the desired results.

The number of sessions required to achieve 95% hair reduction through laser hair removal can vary significantly depending on several factors, including:

  1. Hair type: The thickness, color, and density of your hair can affect the number of sessions needed. Laser hair removal works best on dark, coarse hair as the laser targets the pigment in the hair follicles.

  2. Hormonal factors: Hormonal imbalances or conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can affect hair growth patterns and may require additional sessions to achieve desired results.

  3. Individual response: Each person's body responds differently to laser hair removal. Some individuals may experience faster results and require fewer sessions, while others may need more sessions to achieve the desired level of hair reduction.

  4. What area of the body you are treating. Some areas have more stubborn hair than others, for example Brazilian tends to require more sessions than legs.

On average, most people require a minimum of 6 to 8 laser hair removal sessions spaced every 4-5 weeks to start to achieve significant hair reduction. However, it's important to note that achieving 100% permanent hair removal is not guaranteed with laser hair removal. While it can lead to long-lasting hair reduction, some fine or lighter hair may still regrow over time, albeit in reduced amounts. Maintenance is usually needed in a few years for those few hairs that grow back, for those only touch ups not full sessions are required.

Usually we separate areas in hormonal (more stubborn) and not hormonal. Face, neck and Brazilian are hormonal so a minimum of 9 sessions up to 15 in some cases are required. Legs, arms, underarms, feet and hand are not hormonal, which means a minimum of 6 and up to 12 sessions might be necessary.

The time frame is another concern most people have, a year and a half or two years are common. However this is very different for everybody, specially because as you go on your treatment are more spaced out in between, you might need treatments just a couple of times in a year towards the end of the process. Laser Hair Removal can be a long process but not a very often one.

Taking all different aspects in consideration an experienced laser technician can give you a time frame and an amount of sessions that you will approximately required to get your desired results, giving an exact number would be inaccurate and giving false expectations.
