How to Exfoliate Your Skin!
Satori Laser recommends exfoliating before coming in for laser sessions. Not only will this help remove dead skin cells, it will also make your treatment more effective without the residual cells in the way. Furthermore, this will help you prevent ingrown hairs. Please note that you should NOT exfoliate after the treatment until the hair starts to fall out.
When it comes to exfoliating, loofah is a common favorite. Although cheap and convenient, unfortunately, carries a lot of bacteria. If you’re not ready for the commitment of cleaning them thoroughly at least twice a week, there are alternatives such as gloves or a natural dry brush.
Make sure to moisturize your skin afterward to combat the dryness.
Look for body/cleaning scrub that contains natural ingredients such as honey, sugar, beads, etc.
Do not use hot water – warm water will suffice. Using hot water will only cause more dryness in your skin.
Remember to dry yourself with a gentle and clean towel as opposed to a random cloth you have lying around, or even your shirt that you’ve worn for 3 days.
Also, although exfoliating is good, overdoing it will do more harm than good for your skin. It varies for person to person so listen to what your skin is telling you.
If you follow these, you’re one step closer to being prepared for your laser removal session!
