Laser Hair Removal Treatment Process

Laser Hair Removal Legs

Laser hair removal lasts anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours (depending on how many areas your treating and how large the area your treating is and how fast your technician is) from the moment of arriving at the clinic.

Before actually applying a laser hair removal treatment, the clinician may ask the patient to have evaluation test. The technician will determine the skin type and decide how to set the laser appropriately. Before beginning actual treatment the technician may also do some test spots.

Quantity of Treatments

Normally, a series of six to eight treatments are prescribed at four to six-week intervals depending upon the location of the hair. This is typical because while all hair is temporarily disabled during each treatment, not all of the hair follicles are removed. Hence, a sequence of treatments is necessary in order for results to become apparent. Subsequent treatments are prescribed usually at longer and longer intervals.

After a single treatment, the hair in a given area is usually reduced in amount and thickness for a very long period of time but it may not be completely gone. To get rid of unwanted hair in a given area completely, some number of maintenance of treatments is required.
